According to the website of Presidential Candidate Barack Obama at http://BarackObama.com, Obama has chosen Senator Joe Biden to be his Vice Presidential Running Mate in the 2008 Presidential Election.
Some details in an official news article released by the BBC explains the Vice presidential decision below:
US Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama has announced that Joe Biden will be his running mate in November’s election.
Mr Obama’s choice, confirmed on his website, comes ahead of next week’s Democratic Party convention.
Mr Biden, a 65-year-old veteran lawmaker, has three decades of Senate experience and is highly respected on foreign policy issues.
Republican contender John McCain could announce his choice next week.
Speculation is mounting that Senator McCain may name his running mate on 29 August, his 72nd birthday, and a day after the Democrats wrap up their convention.
‘Impressive record’
The announcement came hours after several US media networks began reporting that Mr Biden had been chosen.
“Joe Biden brings extensive foreign policy experience, an impressive record of collaborating across party lines, and a direct approach to getting the job done,” a brief statement on Mr Obama’s campaign website said.
The two men are expected to appear together at a rally in Illinois later in the day.
We applaud Barack Obama’s choice for a Vice Presidential candidate with experience and with a solid Senate history as Joe Biden posseses.

The World Wide Web has become a very big and competitive place in the last few years. The current statistics show that there are thousands of new websites that come online on a daily basis and are a combination of business, organization and personal web sites. It is no longer enough to just build a website or have a website built for you by a professional and then just sit back and expect the visitors to come to your website anymore. That is where search engine marketing comes into play.
Search engine marketing in a nutshell is basically the act and process of making your website noticable to the search engines such as Google, Yahoo, MSN and others to name a few. Proper search engine marketing involves customized code and content inserted into your web pages so that they can be indexed under your most favorable search terms by the search engines. Keep in mind, this is not a one time process and then expecting your website to hold its own weight over time. The landscape and algorithms of the way that the search engines index your pages change rapidly from time to time and a formula that works today to get your website into the top 20 results might not work next month.
Part of what we do for our clients is not only create them a website that is highly functional for their business or cause, but also set a plan with them to hand submit their websites to the search engines and directories and update their web pages and re-submit them several times a year. Pay per click is also always an option as well but it does cost money on a continued basis to pay for listings in the top 5 results for your keyword in the main search engines.
To sum this posting up, search engine marketing is just as important as having a fancy website created for your business. Even though it looks nice, without website marketing, you can’t build visitor traffic and withour traffic you can’t build clients or sales.
Who would have ever thought that Nintendo would hit the nail on the head in the video game market in the last half of 2006. First the release of the Nintendo DS Lite handheld video game system with a nice variety of games and keen graphics for a handheld and then the launch of the Nintendo Wii Game System in November! Wow is it a good year for Nintendo!!
The biggest lure of the Nintendo Wii is that it redefines gaming and playing video games as we know it. The motion sensitive controllers called “remotes” actually can simulate movements in games. For instance, the Wii Sports games that come included with systems that were shipped in the United States fully utilyzes virtual “movement” of the controller for the actual game play. In other words really swinging a bat in baseball or serving a racket in tennis. The system can accomodate up to 4 players at a time and hosts a slew of other games that take advantage of the Wii motion sensing capabilities that “put” you in the game.
One of the other biggest reasons why Nintendo is also knocking the competition out such as the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony Playstation 3 is price and value. Some people whether it be teenagers or adults just don’t want to pay $450 to $650 for a more advanced game system that is specifically designed for “gamers” Nintendo knows how to bring the family back into video games with everyone capable of playing from little kids to grandma and grandpa and it gets you off the couch and more into the game. I would almost consider it excercise because of the sweat that can be broken from some of the wii sports games. The affordable price of the Nintendo Wii at $249.00 plus the packed feature set and capabilities make it a hard to pass up item for 2006-2007.

Nintendo will also continue to push some rough competition against rival Microsoft Xbox 360 in the online capabilities of the system. Nintendo offers the same online competition play as Xbox live without the monthly price tag. Instead Nintendo is aiming to make their money at selling Wii Points. Wii Points cost roughly $1.00 per 1000 points and can be used to buy and download older Nintendo titles and Genesis Titles from older game systems for playing on the Nintendo Wii. Ah, Nostalgia at its best. Even when it comes to the original Super Mario Brothers from the Original Nintendo Entertainment System. Oh, the system also boasts a downloadable browser so you may also surf the Internet from your TV.
If you ask me, and also because I have played it, Nintendo’s Wii system tops the market at being the most value based Game Changing experience to come to market in years. I think Nintendo will continue to sit on that Video Game throne for awhile as they continue to change the face of video games as we know it. I can’t wait to see the new Mario Galaxies game coming out in April that will take advantage of the full technological capability of the Nintendo Wii system and what it has to offer.

At Dream City Consulting, we currently design more websites and web marketing campaigns than any other technology and networking services that we offer. But there is one major problem that I have with some of the clients that we design websites for. The clients do not really make an effort to have either dynamic content or updating their website content at any point in time. The problem is that while your rank of your site may rise in the search engines and you will see your unique visitor numbers go slightly up over time, you return visitors and return traffic will be low to none. Being that we have entered the age of information overload on the web.
Blogs, RSS content and news feeds and podcasting are dominating traffic and content on the web which makes it harder for the average website to “Keep up with the Jones”.
Although everything I had just mentioned above takes alot of work, the least that can be done is once in awhile, make a true effort to at least update your website content or if it is an ecommerce website, add new products, run a sale or change it up every so often. At least you will be shoring your audience that your website is worth coming back to from time to time and it would be worth it for them to visit you every so often instead of just once or twice.
Shame on those of you business owners or sole proprietors out there who still don’t have a website. I don’t know what you are waiting for but you are sure missing the bandwagon for some free exposure on the biggest marketing medium ever, that’s right….the internet!
For years we have seen and come across many businesses and sole proprietors that have an active and viable service or products that they offer, except that they have no web presence. They are actually handing out business cards with an email address with their ISP instead of “mike@mydomain.com”. Very non-professional and it limits the choice that you offer your clients by not having a website. Let me explain better.
Right now, without a website, you may rely on actually meeting people or word of mouth in order to obtain additional clients and sell additional products. Or you may even go with a more conventional form of advertising such as yellow pages, magazine ads or actual print ads. In the last 3 years or so, anyone spending money on actual print advertising has written it off as almost a total loss or money and effort. Usually it is very easy to convinve them to cancel their print advertising budget, build at least one website and market their products or services on the web. They sometimes even make the decision to spend on pay per click with the search engines which helps a website gain rank in search engines for relevant key words and terms pertaining to their business. It has proven to be break even at abolsutely worst case scenario.
By advertising online and hosting your business website, you also give your customers and possible clients choices that they do not have with print ads or conventional media. They have the choice to send you an inquiry through your website at anytime of day or night. They can find out more about your products and services on the web without having to call you within a pre-determined business schedule. If you sell products, they could even purchase through your website anytime of day or night, hassle free at their convenience. If you sell services, possibly having an online booking application so they can make an appointment for services. More choices equals more business for you.
It is almost foolish today not to have a website developed for you with some professional email accounts set up at your own domain name. At a one time cost starting at $695 for a page or two explaining your products or services and email setup, it will be the best advertising and business development investment that you ever make

Not too long ago, being the go to tech guy for most of my friends and colleagues, I started being asked to help people out with setting up their ipod and their itunes software. I thought no big deal at first but what resonated in my mind as an MCSE is that Apple and Microsoft have never played nice, but why not give peace a chance.
Having had several kinds of MP3 players in the past and working out any of the bugs involved with setup, I figured I was at least an amateur at getting the task done already. Especially because who knows how to better troubleshoot Windows than yours truly. Until I took the first try at trying to sychronize an ipod. In the past, all the MP3 players that I have owned have allowed you to either use synchronization software of just treat the MP3 player like a drive and drag and drop songs into it. Not an ipod though. Most of the time, the computer soes not see it as just a drive, most of the time it is hidden and their there is the evil itunes. Itunes makes everyone believe the only way you will get tunes on your ipod device is to buy them from their service. They do not exactly make it user friendly to easily get your own cds and existing files onto your device. Matter of fact it kind of sucks. It took almost 3 hours of fumbling with it the first time to get it to finally synchronize. Kind of sucks actually.
I think the nature of the problems stem from the fact that apple uses their own proprietary file system on the device and the itunes software is not that friendly on a Windows Operating System Environment. Most other MP3 players in the market allow you to either drag and drop your files to them as a drive or use a friendly piece of software. Needless yo say, unless you had a Mac, I would not recommend buying into an ipod. If a Computer and Technology solutions Developer like myself was having problems with the device and the software, it is almost a guarantee on the type of experience you will have.
